Written Tests

Happy student studies in a classroom session.

Written Test

Passing your written test is an important step on the road to getting your Washington State driver's license. At our Seattle driving school, we make the process as smooth and stress-free as possible. Whether you're a first-time teen driver, an adult learner, or someone who needs a little extra support, we're here to help you prepare and succeed. Read below to find out which written test applies to you.

Knowledge Test

The knowledge test is administered on a computer or tablet at our location. Before your visit, you must have your active Department of Licensing (DOL) account login information ready. This means knowing your Secure Access Washington (SAW) / License eXpress username and password — you'll need to log into the system yourself to begin the exam, so please make sure your credentials are set up and working before you arrive. If you haven't created an account yet, or you're unsure whether your login is active, we strongly recommend taking a few minutes to verify or set up your account in advance. You can do so through the official portal here: Secure Access Washington / License eXpress Login

Teen Student Class Final Exam

Once your teen driver education course is complete, your student will need to pass a final exam to demonstrate what they've learned in class. There is no additional charge to take the final exam — it's included as part of your teen's enrollment in our driver education program. Simply complete the course and you'll be all set to schedule your exam with us.

Oral Testing for the License Written Exam

We believe everyone deserves a fair opportunity to earn their driver's license. If reading the standard written exam is a challenge — whether due to a learning difference, language barrier, or any other reason — we offer an oral testing option where the exam questions are read aloud to you. To arrange this service, please purchase the oral testing add-on prior to your appointment so we can have everything prepared for your arrival.
