Driver License Testing

Seattle Driving Academy administers the Written Knowledge Test to get your permit and the Driving Skill Test to get your license.

The Written Knowledge Test is $45.00  and the 2nd knowledge exam is free within 30 days. We offer the knowledge test in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Russian, Vietnamese, Japanese, and now in Amharic with a translator. We will add your result within 24 hours. So, if you pass the knowledge test, you may get your permit at the Department Of Licensing.

Official Written Testing Availability

Monday-Saturday at 1:00 p.m. and 4:30 p.m. on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Please check our availability and book your knowledge written Test before you arrive at the school.
Applicants will be given a maximum of 40 minutes. Please bring legal photo identification when you come to the school to take your Test. The knowledge test consists of 40 multiple-choice questions about traffic safety laws, and for you to pass, you must score 32 questions correctly.

Official Skill Testing

is available every day except Sunday. Please call us at (206) 289-9000 if you want to take your driving test on the same day. You may book your driving test online if you plan to take it on a different day
The Department of Licensing Driving Skill Test is $85.00 per attempt in your car. If you want to use our school car, the Testing fee is $85.00 per attempt.
Please arrive 15 minutes early for your scheduled Test. Late arrivals will not be able to test. Please read the Test policy before you book the official driving skill exam.
