Knowledge Test- South Lake Union

Knowledge Test Requirements

Please review and prepare the following items before arriving for your Washington State Knowledge Test:

1. Bring Proper Identification

You must bring one of the following photo IDs:

• WA State ID or Driver License

• Out-of-State ID or Driver License

• Passport (from any country)

If you do NOT have a WA State photo ID, bring:

• School or Work ID, AND

• Birth Certificate

2. License eXpress Account Required

• You must have a License eXpress account on the WA State Department of Licensing website.

• You will log in to your account to take the knowledge test, so bring your username and password.

• If you forget your login information, you may not be able to test.

3. Study and Time Limit

• We provide 40 minutes to complete the knowledge test.

• Please read the Washington State Driver Guide before coming in to take the test.

4. Arrive Early

• Please arrive 15 minutes early to allow time for:

  • Check-in

  • Basic paperwork

  • Test preparation
